Our trip to Maui began with a little gift. When we booked our flight with Mokulele Airlines we expected a normal airplane that would take us to the other island. Little did we know that our plane would actually be a small 9 passenger Cessna plane. What followed was one of the best experiences in our lives. We had incredible views of both islands just paying the usual airfare, where other people pay 200 USD for a scenic plane ride. Sunrise … [Read more...] about Road tripping in Maui
Hedonisia – The EcoFeminist Community
One night on the West Coast of Big Island, Hawaii we were desperately looking for a place to stay for the night. Luckily we found the Hedonisia EcoFeminist Community and the owner Mojo was still awake to offer us a site to pitch our tents. Sometimes it just seems that some things are meant to be, because there is hardly a campsite that fits better to our lifestyle than Hedonisia. Big Island of Hawaii
After California our next destinations were the Paradisiac Islands of Hawaii. We arrived early in Honolulu but the next day at 6 am we had the next flight to Big Island. Even though there was not that much time to explore, we tried to make the most out of the day and took a bus to the Pearl Harbor Memorial Site. But after that we did not have to worry about our vehicle anymore and could do everything by foot. Everybody tells you that San Francisco … [Read more...] about San Francisco
Wilderness Hike in Southern Lake Tahoe
Leaving Yosemite National Park behind we headed towards our final inland destination in California, Lake Tahoe. Because just chilling by the lake is not our thing we had a look at the trails around and found out the parts of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is near Lake Tahoe. The PCT is a 2600 miles trail that leads from the Mexican Border all the way to the state of Washington. To complete this trail you need about 5 months and since we neither … [Read more...] about Wilderness Hike in Southern Lake Tahoe
Yosemite National Park
From Sequoia NP we started our next road trip with destination Yosemite National Park. Our road trip was pretty packed but we decided to stay three nights here. Unfortunately, we booked pretty late and since this is one of the most popular parks we could not get a spot in the best campsites in the park. We stayed at Yosemite Pines a bit outside the valley and after the amazing Sequoia campground, this one was pretty disappointing. It is super … [Read more...] about Yosemite National Park
